Weekend?

Living History Day
Location: Robbins Lewis Pavilion on Schreiner
University campus.
Free and open to the public. Texas Heritage Living History DAY--Another Way of
Learning -- will be held at the Robbins-Lewis Pavilion
on Schreiner University campus.

Highlights include a noon
tribute to Jimmie Rodgers, more than 40 performers (TBA),
exhibits, chuck wagons and teepees, Vaqueros and Buffalo
soldiers, a Native American Educational component, and the
songs and stories of Texas.
Food and drink will be available at the event. |
Reminder to
all interested schools: We will be awarding
transportation grants to and from the
Friday event to rural schools, as well as schools with predominantly
'youth at risk' enrollments. Funding for this special program will
be limited. Please contact THMF for more information.
Reminder to
all interested schools: Through our unique Living History
outreach program, The In School Performers Program,
we will be placing a Living History Weekend performer/educator in
area schools (predominantly rural and at-risk) through the
end of December, 2005 after the conclusion of Texas Heritage Living
History Weekend in September. Funding for this special program is
limited. Please contact THMF for more information.

"Music
From the Heart of the Hill Country"
FLASH!! CONCERT VENUE CHANGE
Due to possible inclement weather, the location of
the Free Benefit Concert has been changed. We are
moving the Concert indoors to the Corner Pocket @ The
Cailloux Student Activities Building. Come out to
Schreiner University, Sept. 25, at 3pm, to hear local
favorites: Midway, Sol Patch, Mr. Clark. This is
a FREE Benefit Concert for victims of the Katrina Disaster.
So remember to come out and hear "Music From the Heart of
the Hill Country".
Concert goers are encouraged to donate clothing, non-perishable
food and money at the gate. All donations will directly benefit
relief efforts in the Gulf coast region.
